NSW Waratahs step aside for
Wildcat Under 8's
The Waratahs had to take second place at the SFS before Saturday's game against the Cheetahs.
Pride of place at the Football Stadium was our own Mighty Under 8's who entertained the large crowd with typical Wildcat skill.
Congratulations boys, keep up the good play.

Warnervale Wildcats Season Update

The 2010 season started at Ettalong Oval on Saturday 17th April. The boys all travelled down to Ettalong ready for a three way match with Woy Woy and Northlakes. We were very disappointed to hear that the previous night Kariong, Northlakes and Woy Woy had all pulled out of the Under 8’s competition. Still it was on with the rugby.

The boys then played the Avoca Under 8’s for the next three weeks, winning 45-35, 50-20 and 40-20. Whilst winning the games was great, I was more impressed with the positive sportsmanship being demonstrated and huge skill development. The boys had improved their support play out of sight and some of their, length of the field tries were amazing.

On the 8th May the boys played their last game in the Central Coast competition against our U9’s and the Northlakes U9’s. The boys lost by a couple of tries against both teams.

On the 15th May the boys made their debut in the Newcastle Under 8’s competition. We had a nice drive up the freeway to play the Maitland club. What a great rugby set up! The boys were a little unlucky early on and eventually lost 25-0. They held the bigger team to basically two tries each half after the first minute. I know the boys were disappointed with the result. However, every parent I spoke to and Laurie all mentioned how this was easily the boys best game of the year. It was a game where they boys actually had to tackle and clean out at the breakdown. It was an actual game of rugby.

I am truly excited about our new venture north and thank all the parents who have supported this initiative. I look forward to seeing our lads improve and leaving the mark on the Under 8’s competition.

Yours Sincerely,

Danny Ariel Warnervale Under 8’s Coach
